The Tla’amin Convenience Store is located on Highway 101 North of Powell River and is a convenience not only for the Sliammon community, but also for the thousands of travelers headed for their holidays in Desolation Sound. The store is the last gas station on highway 101, which extends over 16000kms to Chile.
Owned and operated by Sliammon community members Gail Blaney-Chiulth and Erik A. Blaney-Tiy 'ap thote, the rebuilding of the landmark store was a community effort with members stopping by to help with cleanup and restoration, and offering ideas for products and services.
The Tla'amin Convenience Store is proud to be in the BC Business Awards Top 5 for Best Community Impact for 2016 and in the Top 10 for the same award out of 699 businesses in 2017.
